Affirmations

When Javad passed, my niece, Ebony, gave me a journal that was identical to the one she used when she lost her son, Amorie (9/18/2007 - 4/20/2019). I started using it every other day to write my thoughts and talk to Javad. I have decided to share some of the affirmations I've written on this website.

"Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us when we live." - Norman Cousins

In my sadness, I love myself.

It's okay to take time to grieve.

Let go of sorrow, but hold onto love for my loved ones.

I am willing to release any negative idea from my mind, body, and life.

It's okay to be angry at having to grieve.

I choose love. I choose to heal.

I feel my angels holding me today as I grieve.

God. Be in my head and in my understanding.

God. Be in my eyes and in my looking.

God. Be in my mouth and in my speaking.

God. Be in my heart and in my thinking.

God. Be at my end and my departing.

Just for today, I will not worry.

Just for today, I will not be angry.

Just for today, I will do my work honestly.

Just for today, I will give thanks for my blessings.

Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbors and every living thing.

Check in with yourself.

Embrace your dark side.

Let go and forgive. Get curious and creative.

"Love one another and help others to rise to higher levels by simply pouring out love. Love is infectious and the greatest healing energy." - Sai Baba

The key to change is to let go of fear.

"There are two ways of spreading light. To be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." - Edith Wharton
